Studio 60

As you probibly alreayd know I have become a big studio 60 fan. Studio 60 on the sunset strip is a comedy about a studio that does a Saturday night live-esque show every week. It is funny, has interesting characters and though there is some stuff some might find objectionable it hasn't gone quite as far as many other shows in recent times have and has been mostly clean.

There are two actors on the show, Matthew Perry and D.L. Hughley who before I never really liked much as actors, but now I find a new respect for them on this show. I had writen them off as bad actors, or at least not very good ones, but now I see it is likely simply the writing of the shows they were on. One of the main things Like aboujt this show is it is a comedy without laughing, something I always disliked in comedies and thought felt forced (even with studio audences to a lesser extent). The whole way the show is filmed and writen breaks with mostn comedies before it on TV (Sure, it's not the first, there were shows like "the office" and "Arrested development", but it is one of the few). Anyway, I highly suggest the show so far. If you donm't watch the show already, probibly the follolw won't intrest you.

I'm interested in the conflict right now between Styles (Hugley) and the new writer Darius (Played by Columbus Short). It's a bit ironic that Darius was hired brecause unlike the other comedian at the club he didn't play to steriotypes, and here he is in a fight with Styles over a skit that perhaps is doing just that a little bit. I have to admit I am liking Styles a bit less right now though, he's being a bit of a jerk.
The getting trapped on the roof thing with Jordan and Danny was a little cliche, but still is made pretty funny. "this is the critical scene in every romantic comedy." I thought was a pretty funny line.

My brother gave me "Making Comics" By Scott McCloud and the first 2 books of the excelent webcomic inverloch as a late CHristmas present.

Making Comics has made me pick back up an old webcomic I've had in the back of my mijnd for a while and never finished. Perhaps I'll finish it now with the help of this book. It's a interesting read so far.

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone has a good new year!

Today we're having a Avatar: the last airbender party with family and friends. I admit I was unsure about weither the show would be good or not, but now most of my family has been converted to Avatar fandom.

Speaking of animation and nickalodeon, I hear that Making Fiends is going to be picked up by nick next year for a half-hour show. It's Something that I've heard vauge rumors of, and now that's it's confirmed I'm pretty exited about it.
