Bridge to Terabithia

I just finished reading Bridge to Terabithia by Kathreme Patterson. The story is of a young boy who dreams of being the fastest kid in his school, but then he is outrun, and on top of that by a girl, for him the ultimate humiliation! The story is funny and very trouching. I highly recommend it.

The Goverment and the MPAA

I was just at the library and saw a medium sized box of VHS tapes for sale to raise funds. This in itself is no surprise, but what got me was the videos were all recorded from TV. They had "pirated" videos of at least two of the star wars films and quite a few others I wished I had a camera to take a picture of it all. I find it to be at least a little ironic. It just seemed like the library was showing a disdain for the MPAA.

A new job (sort of)

I got hired this week to be a reporter for not one but three magazines in second life. (All owned by the same company).

Second life is a online 3D world where people can interact. Normally I'm not a big fan of social networking stuff like this. I may try it and quickly loose interest. (I had a myspace and havn't touched it in months). but what I like about SL is the ability to build things, even able to put them in to motion with a rather powerful scripting engine adn sell them, keeping complete rights over what you make.

For two of the magazines I'm writing for I'm reporting on the music scene in SL. There are quite a few very talented musicians in second life. This last week I listened to a great piano [concert and a violin concert, both had the feeling of a live show that you don't get with other forms of sharing music over the internet. The thuird is a faith-based magazine called "inner Faith".

I'm also trying to get a business making board games and other things off the ground, but I'm stil;l working on getting the word out and getting the space to sell my stuff.

EDIT: Got rid of the site because it was a hastle to keep up and I felt wasn't really needed.
