Spiderman Vs. Captain Jack

These last two weeks I saw Spiderman 3 and Pirates of the Caribbean: At worlds end (Which I just saw today).

While I wouldn't say Spider man 3 was "a turd" as some have said, I thought it was mostly pretty silly, except for the very good fight sequence at the end. Laughing at "Emo Peter" was some unintentional comedy.

(EDIT: Ok, so he's not really "emo")

Pirates well met my expectations of a pirate movie. I definitly liked the first movie better (But that's quite a high standard). I had heard that there were going to be "Ninjas" or some sort of oriental flavor, so me and my siblings dressed as ninjas of varying sorts. Not quite so much ninja action, but still a good movie nonetheless.
I'd love to share my favorite moments, but I don't want to spoil it. All I can say is, I love the scene where you first see Jack.

The Grendel by John Gardner

I'm reading "The Grendel" By John Gardner. It's a telling of the story of beowulf from the point of view from the monster Grendel. It's intresting, and well written, but it's very disconnected, because it's told by a character who is rather insane which makes it not exactly hard to follow but hard to keep interest because of the weird jumps and changes. It's also a little course in places.

I tried reading Beowulf before a long time ago and gave up because the language was so hard to read. I'm actually considering not finishing it because I get the general "gist", the main interest for me was the idea of a story told from the point of view of a villain because I'm working on a play that's told from a villain's point of view.
